Everyone who joins
**MUST PARTICIPATE**

Each member is REQUIRED to critique a minimum of TWO (2) Chapters per week (posted by other members).

Participation is crucial, and weeds out the SERIOUS writers from the NON-SERIOUS writers. The higher the level of participation from you, the more you will benefit from the group. We at RWU are SERIOUS about writing and will consistently work hard to attain our ultimate goal of getting published. If that is your dream, too - you've come to the right place! If, however, you are NOT serious about your writing, it will be apparant in your lack of participation and deactivation will occur.

Simply put, "participation" means TO BE CONSISTENT in both:

  1. sharing knowledge (and friendly converstion) on the boards, and
  2. submitting writing and critiquing in the SUB/CRIT area

Participation in BOTH of these groups is not only beneficial to your success as a writer but it is VITAL to maintaining good standing within RWU.

ABSOLUTELY NO FLAMING OR HARRASSMENT of others will be tolerated here. Undoubtedly, there will be instances in which differing opinions will occur. If there is something you take exception to, DO NOT send a derrogatory comment to the board voicing your complaint. Instead, be tactful and reply to the person PRIVATELY in a Private Message or via email.

Members who are argumentative, disruptive or are overall "troublemakers" will be removed.

**CRITIQUES**

Detailed instructions on critiquing are listed on the RWU Board.

BEING ACCEPTED INTO RWU:

Upon acceptance into RWU, you will be asked for a username and password (Your user name should be your REAL or PSEUDONYM) - at which time you will be approved and added to the boards. You will be sent your login information along with a link to the secret, govenment location of the boards. Please wait at least 48 hours from responding with your username/password before asking for status update. We won't forget about you - it just takes some time occasionally.

When you register: Please choose either your REAL FIRST NAME (or PEN NAME). It can include a last name or initial if you like - and spaces ARE allowed, so if you are Jane Doe, feel free to type it in just like that (with the space included).

*Please do not pick a name/number combo or obscure nickname like other groups may use. Try your name or your pen name first.

Approvals are done manually, so it may be immediate if there is a moderator online at the time, or it may take a little longer. Please be patient - if you have been accepted by RWU - and notified via email, then you WILL be approved for the boards.

Under the GENERAL DISCUSSION heading, please note the thread: New Members - Introduce Yourself and use it to introduce yourself to the rest of the group once you gain access so we can all welcome you and get to know you better.

Some things you might want to include in your introduction:

  • How long you have been writing
  • What types of romances you write (sweet, paranormal, historical, etc)
  • Your strengths/weaknesses in writing

Those are just examples, feel free to include whatever information you'd like to share with us.
